Stump Grinding
Stump grinding is the process of removing a stump that is currently lodged in the ground through the use of a machine called a "stump grinder." This machine has a large, heavy duty wheel-blade with sharp teeth. The blade spins around rapidly until the stump is "ground" out. The stump grinder works like a chipper at ground level. We make passes back and forth over and, through the stump with the machine until the stump is ground 4-17 inches below the surface.
The stump is not "pulled out" of the ground, as may be commonly thought, so there is no damage to the ground surrounding the stump. Stump grinding is the most efficient way of removing tree stumps with little or no impact on your surrounding landscape. We can maneuver into most hard-to-reach locations.
As a tree grows older, its roots tend to grow deeper into the ground, making it nearly impossible to remove without some kind of mechanical help. In one phone call to us, we can assess the stump, set a date for removal, and remove it with little effort, thanks to our top-notch equipment. You can say goodbye to that stump forever!
